The Most Wonderful Time of the Year

I love this time of year. The time when you can catch a good sniff of a distant bonfire (leaf fire…bad for the environment, nice for the nose) on the slightly chilled air, the time when you can put on a bit of holiday music and not feel too guilty for bringing on the holiday cheer too soon, the time when a gnome gets so swamped with The Walrus & The Carpenter that she has nary the time to read others’, let alone write her own blog post. Though Monkey and I had a fabulous time in torrential Wales (where we were spoiled by daily tea, homemade cakes galore, sunday roast lunch, cozy nights in the pub, Welsh cheese to die for, great woolen mills, sheeps galore…), we’ve been back home for a week and still are playing catchup with everything. Oy. We’ve unintentionally turned the month of November into super-mega-quality-family-time with Wales on the front end and then Chicago for the tail end. I am super excited to hang out at Lizzie’s with Lizzie, my folks, and Lizzie’s boys (I didn’t tell you, did I? she adopted a second pug from the pet shelter a few weeks back!). It will be a challenge to keep the business efficient while I’m back in the midwest, but I am looking forward to it all the same. Anywho, I will try to be a better blogger, but if I fall short, know that it’s not because I want to be a bad blogger, but that time management skills or no, I am a swamped shopgirl right now. Not a complaint. I love it. It’s a fabulous time of the year!

Off topic, but I returned to SC to find the commercials for Kraft’s Crumbles highly disturbing. Both Monkey and I were crestfallen to find that they’ve appropriated EMF’s “Unbelievable” in the most uncool way possible. This is much worse than finding Modern English’s “Melt With You” peddling snack crackers.
